It appears like someone regularly clears the brush out of the property leaving clearance so one can walk anyplace they chose. I like the way the light makes the trees appear two-colored. Thanks for posting.

I expect the property owners use the fallen timber for fuel, Brenda. But that slope is steeper than it appears in two dimensions; it would be quite a climb. The light varies greatly here, depending on the season and weather conditions. I caught this as we were returning from a brief morning visit to the local village shop for fresh food.

My precise thought on seeing them the first time, Noelle. They’re actually beside a drive passing a private house, via an old railway tunnel, but the owners are okay with local people using it to get to other paths.
