  2. So legend tree photo 🌹👍🙏🏼 🏝️ once upon a time this tree gave sheltter to so many
    Creepers and small plants and now the admiring tree also so old and its friendly loving

    1. Strangulation by roots, Joni; pretty sinister! I chose to produce this one in B & W as there was only one spot of colour other than the browns of the bark and roots. There’s a small ivy leaf up at top left. Had I left this as a colour shot, that bright green would have been a visual intrusion.

                  1. I meant every word, remember I am honest to a fault. I am flattered if you have learned anything from me. So thank you very much that honors me my friend. I hope that I will be learning till I leave my shell behind. You two have an amazing week. We are heading to the mountains tonight to look at houses again. We found one we love and Stuart they are cutting down trees and laying pavement around us for several thousand homes. We want to get about three acres and sell this home. 🤗❤️💕🥰

    1. There are trees in the forest that have been strangled by ivy, Lynette. It’s a real problem here, and some trees have been felled by the sheer weight of ivy climbing on their boughs. Fortunately, in the case of some of the much older trees, the ivy has been cut from its roots so it no longer grows. But that’s a difficult and time-consuming job, so it isn’t done as often as it should be. On a positive note, the ivy does provide a habitat for many of the invertebrates and some birds.
