  1. I love pictures of the ocean. And the air smells so sweet after a storm. I remember one time in S. Carolina running on the beach in a thunderstorm and laughing at the sparks flying around our feet. Youth is fun and sometimes stupid. Thanks for posting.

    1. I can empathise with those feelings, Brenda. As a child of 5-7years, I lived in a converted railway wagon on the edge of a cliff overlooking the North Sea. I loved watching thunder storms as they moved across the horizon and would go out and stand on the edge of the cliff to watch the waves break below, ignoring the pouring rain. For some odd reason my mother used to call me back inside!

    1. Yes, Barbara. We were so lucky to have been given that particular room that overlooked the bay so perfectly. I confess, I spent a lot of time watching the waves and clouds.

        1. I’ve always loved the sea – my biological dad was a sailor – and the sky has always fascinated me – I recall my mum, a gifted painter, spreading oils on hardboard from the door of our clifftop caravan when I was a child and rendering the scene before us in a way that has stayed with me ever since.

    1. It’s actually in Wales, Tom. Rhosilli Bay on the Gower Peninsula, taken from our hotel bedroom in the Worm’s Head Hotel. This was the view from the window, so we were able to watch as the scene changed with the weather.
