  2. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to the colosseum, and I found it very interesting (I was fortunate enough to have a private tour with a small group of others) but I don’t need to go back. I love Italy’s smaller cities and rural areas.

    1. We also toured with a small group, Lynette. And there was a meeting of UN Youth on the stage at the time (You can see their flags in the distance).
It was part of a weddding anniversary tour of Italy, where we took in Rome, Pompeii, Florence, and Lake Maggiore in the mountains to the north. A wonderful stay with great food, friendly people, and fascinating historical sites and lovely countryside.

          1. I’m surprised your brain isn’t frozen, Lynette. But I suffer from the same sort of problem – I blame the keyboard, since it can’t answer back!
If you do get back to Italy, I hope you manage to get to Pompeii, too. It’s a fascinating place. And the Italians are now considering putting a retractable floor into the Collosium, so a return trip to Rome might be worthwhile after 2023 when they hope to have the new floor in place. You can satnd where the gladiators fought, then!

    1. It’s well worth a visit, Brenda. But be careful to get proper tickets. There are a number of people trying to take advantage of the unwary! A very interesting place to tour.
