Beautiful photos. I love the second one in particular – it seems that a mythological woodland creature could flit through or a Merry Man might be hiding nearby. Great quote.

Thanks, Lynette. We call this part of the forest, which we reach via a pretty steep climb, our ‘magical forest’. It has an air of mystery about it, and it’s a place you can wander freely between the trees without ever worrying about following paths.
Last time we were there, we witnessed nature in the raw, as a buzzard swept past low to the ground, a grey squirrel in its claws. Quite a sight.

I can understand why! It definitely has a magical atmosphere. If it’s protected by a steep climb, the animals are likely less disturbed and you can see more of those events. I bet it was a sight!

Apparently, it was used for a couple of scenes in films, Lynette: Star Wars and Harry Potter, I believe.

Thanks, Aiva. I’m trying to include a quote on walking along with each of the new posts in the series. This one taken from ‘Lord of the Rings’ is probably the most well-known so far. And thanks for the comment on the pictures. I’ll keep them coming.
