Ten Day #Travel Challenge: Day 5.

My friend, Joni Caggiano, poet, writer and photographer, nominated me to participate in the “Ten Day Travel Challenge.” The ‘rules’ are that participants post a photograph each day for ten days without disclosing the location, and nominate 10 others to engage with this challenge if they so desire. I’m a rule breaker by nature and also enjoy indulging my curiosity, so I’m bending those ‘rules’. I’ll ‘invite’ a new participant each day, but not inform them personally. I’m interested to see how far the news will travel without deliberate action from me. So, one unidentified picture, one invitee, ten days.
Also, I’ll post the normal ‘Today’s Pictures’, from the Forest of Dean, as part of this series over the next ten days.

    1. One of a projected series, Lynette. Lit by the sky but not the sun, it was lightly tinged with blue, but I felt a little enhancement might express the cold more thoroughly.

      The ice patch was on one of the paths, and I’m always on the look-out for natural designs. In fact, I’m collecting them for a series.

      1. Oh what a great idea. That was really beautiful. Thank you for accepting the challenge my friend as we have been blessed by it. You must have one organized desk my friend. Of course I am in love with your historic forest as I just love trees. We are slowly killing all the trees. There were 1.3 million Joshua trees destroyed in the Mojave Preserve. Redwoods and giant sequoias, so many burned by the fire which burned something like 4 million acres. Info from NYTimes which I believe to be a reliable source. The piece titled: After Wildfires, mourning the Loss of California’s Giants. Heart breaking stuff. Sorry to be depressing but we are going to see a lot more of this deforestation in the future. As Americans we tend to want everything. I am so glad I am blessed with the things that matter but we never lived beyond our means and that is a wonderful feeling. We do help preserve nature and I know you do too. 🤗💕❤️

        1. It’s so sad, and should be a criminal offence, to destroy ancient trees. They take centuries to mature, provide us with oxygen, sequester CO2, and provide us with natural beauty and grace. And they are destroyed by companies and individuals simply in the pursuit of profit. Very sad.
          We can only continue doing our bit to educate and inspire, Joni.

  5. Love that color of that patch of ice. All we have here is mud! I am thinking that photo was taken in Florence, Italy – wild guess. Another place I’ve never been. Is that the Arno?
