Today’s Picture: 5 Oct 20

Autumn colours brighten the shade.

Another dull day here. But we managed a walk through a favourite part of the forest, and I captured a few scenes worthy of sharing. So here are a couple of those. The small brook was completely dry only three days ago, but the recent rain has revived it into a lively stream. And the valley, with the tree-lined hill at its end, is starting to reveal some of the autumn colours that promise to add brightness to the greenery over the next few weeks.

Rain revives a stream after a dry spell.

If you’re visiting here, please be generous to those who can’t escape their own four walls at present, and share this widely with them on social media, so they can enjoy it. Thank you.

        1. I used to climb, crouch, lie flat on my back or front, hang from ropes, or whatever was needed to get the shot, Lynette. These days I have to be a little more circumspect. Shall we say, I’m a little less pliable now?

    1. Thank you, Joni. The little stream runs down beside one of the old railway bridges and most walkers pass it by without ever knowing it exists. It’s lovely to see it running again after a dry spell.

      1. I bet it is really beautiful. Looks like it had some velocity to it. I am guessing it is because of the rain. Really beautiful and I believe I have seen your photography of the bridge which I loved. 🤗💕❤️Joni
