Today’s Picture: 24 Aug 20

From one of our favourite routes through the local part of the Forest of Dean.

Rain threatened today, so we took an early walk in relative gloom. This picture is from a brighter day, as these posts are intended to pass on some cheer. Enjoy!

If you’re visiting here, please be generous to those who can’t escape their own four walls at present, and share this widely on social media, so they can enjoy it. Thank you.

    1. It was, Joni. Today, we have storm Francis, so I’m not sure we’ll get out. Can be dangerous to walk in the forest when winds are gusting to 60mph! One of our favourite trees suffered serious wind damage over the weekend, a good third of the old sentinel gone. But I’ll post something from my library here later today.

      1. Oh I am so sorry to hear that. Hopefully it will still continue to grow and have life. So glad you were not out in such winds, you two be careful. Love ❤️ and hugs coming to you both. Be safe and watch out for one another. Joni

        1. I think it’s safe, Joni. If you look at the picture from 2 July in this series, you’ll se the tree as it was. It’s lost one of thevery large branches at the front, but the rest is still intact, fortunately. You and yours keep safe and stay well.

          1. Yay so glad this old giant will survive. Had a chance to see some of your beautiful work while looking for the tree. You live in a fairy land with your wife. How wonderfully blessed you two are. So happy for you both. ❤️💕🤗😘

            1. Thanks, Joni. I saw you’d visited some of the earlier posts. Thanks for the likes and comments. I’ll dig out an original picture of the tree before it was damaged and post it with a shot as it is now. I was going to take one today, but Valerie wasn’t feeling too well, so our walk was shorter than usual. She’s okay, just a bit under the weather, which is rather appropriate, given the storms, winds and rains we’re enjoying at present!
