I’d wait until it slows its flow first, Noelle. The brown colouring is due to peat run-off from the hils above the town and it tends to make the rocks a bit slippery!

I find the sound of rapids to be quite comforting.

These particular falls run through a small market town, and are approached through a car park. The roar of the water is effective in blanketing the sounds of civilisation, so you can imagine you’re in a more rural setting quiter easily. The river has a few sets of falls and most are in open country.
