Today’s Pictures: 1 July 20

A forest road in the Forest of Dean.

There are people all over the world who cannot get out and enjoy nature at present. Here, I’m trying to brighten the day for those people by posting pictures of natural beauty.

Barns in the Yorkshire Dales. Taken in October 2009

If you get pleasure from this, please share it, so others can enjoy it, too. Thank you.

    1. Thanks, Miriam. We lived for a while in Settle in the Dales. Where were you? Unfortunately, especially in winter, it turned out to be just too coold for us! It’s warmer down here in the southwest.

      1. I lived in Ilkley in West Yorkshire but explored both Lake District and North Yorkshire. Lived there 17 years but now in South East.
Yes, it could get very cold with the high humidity. I even chocked unsuspecting walkers by swishing by on skis on the moors. 😊.

Is the barn on the right (the one closest to the camera) leaning a bit? Maybe the builder had a little too much “liquid courage”.

    1. Optical illusion, Tom. It’d dead straight. But, when this was built, maybe 2/300 years ago, most people drank beer because the water was undrinkable, so who knows?
