Today’s Pictures: 3 June 20

Trying to brighten the day for those people isolated indoors during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The much-needed rain has arrived today. We’ve had a short walk in the dripping trees, but I took no photographs, as I felt it better to present you with sunny views. So, today’s pictures come from my library of images, some taken years ago.

    1. Too dry. You’re right, Lynette. I always worry that some local silly boys might set fire to the place when it’s dry. We didn’t have a lot of rain, but it’s dampened the ground and laid the dust. Still grey today, and a little cooler than it’s been, but nowhere as cool as your part fo the world!

      1. Even a little can help. My home in the Okanagan is at the very tip of the Sonoran Desert, so it can get very dry (and hot); J understand your concerns. Here in the north we are warming up, though. 19C today. 🙂

        1. Now I’m as intrigued as I am confused, Lynette. The Okanagan appears to be in British Columbia, but I can find the Sonoran Desert only in Arizona, and I’m pretty sure those two places are not neighbours! You’ll have to educate me on the geography, please.
          But I’m glad your temperatures are rising where you are. We’ve had 25C, but today is promising 14C at max, and maybe even 12C tomorrow. Still, the sun’s shining again, so that brightens things up.

          1. Sorry for the confusion. There’s actually a lot of discussion and disagreement about whether it is an actual part of the Sonoran Desert; I believe the conclusion is that it’s one of several “remainders” or “pocket deserts” related to the Sonoran. I used to live in Arizona, and while the differences are profound, there are also many similarities.
